FAQs

What do the years represent?
Each year’s data is a snapshot in time, calculated on December 31 of that year. The data are copied from the CalWeedMapper database, cropped to December 31 of that year, then run through the same calculations as CalWeedMapper. The result is a snapshot of what CWM data would have been on December 31.
What does "managed" mean?
A species is considered "managed" in a given quad when 75% or more of the populations of that species in that quad have been managed in the last 18 months. These snapshots being calculated on December 31, this means that a CalFlora observation was found which indicates management, no earlier than June 30 of the prior calendar year.
